That’s an expensive little mishap there ladies and gentleman! Please don’t make the same stupid mistakes that I did. Why wasn’t I insured? Because I refused to pay the outrageous amount quoted by the high street companies. Last time I checked it was around £15 + VAT per month. I still refuse to pay that much.

I am now insured, and I am paying half that amount for exactly the same cover. That means when leave my phone in the back of a cab, or drop the phone down the toilet by mistake I will be 100% covered and will have a new phone by my side within 24 hours. How did I do it? Well read below for my three sneaky loopholes!

In most cases, you may be surprised to hear that it is already covered in the ‘personal belongings’ category. There will be certain items which you are covered for inside and outside of your home such as watches, jewelry and mobile phones! Pretty cool hey. Just ensure that you can protect your name claims bonus – I did this for a couple of extra pounds per month. No sweat!

3. Do you own a bank account in the UK? – I think its a fairly good bet that you do! Well there are a few banks out there at the moment who offer insurance for iPhone to their premium account holders. Don’t be put off though, premium accounts are not that hard to obtain. Most banks are begging for your custom in the current economic climate. They will insure your iPhone for free. How cool is that? Please be aware though that the latest iPhone will set you back £500+ and usually the banks wont cover the full amount. You will also have to pay an excess of £50 or so each time you make a claim which will eat into the amount you have left to buy a new iPhone. Overall though its not a bad service for costing you nothing!
